All colleges within the IECC district provide tuition-free classes and serve as official testing sites for students seeking a high school equivalency certificate, including the GED. 

Programs administer the required examinations in math, reading, writing, science, and social studies, as well as the Constitution exam. Classes are available in 8- or 16-week formats with day and evening scheduling options to prepare adults and eligible minors to obtain their high school equivalency credentials.

Volunteers, community groups and local businesses donate materials, food, toys and skills for seasonal holiday projects for low-income families. Provides food packages and allowances to purchase clothes, shoes, coats, and household goods.

Projects vary annually and by county office. Community members may contact their county BVCA office for details about local holiday programs.

Provides access for people with disabilities to spend time in the community and build social skills. Activities include learning how to have conversations, manage feelings, budget money, and make purchases. The program offers support to help people learn how to get around and take part in community activities with less help while building confidence and relationships.

Provides a matrix treatment model that includes active treatment and long-term aftercare support, featuring family and individual therapy, gender-specific groups, and services tailored to individuals convicted of driving under the influence (DUI). The program incorporates a dual-diagnosis approach with on-site integrated mental health evaluation and treatment, psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and 24-hour emergency access. 

Provides an animal welfare and response team that investigates animal abuse and cruelty situations across Iowa. If there is an animal welfare concern outside of the city limits of Des Moines, citizens are encouraged to contact local law enforcement in their community to report first. Citizens can then email or call animal welfare intervention coordinator for more information and follow up. 

Offers law enforcement services to the Van Buren County area. Issues gun/firearm permits, runs requested background checks, and manages the county Jail.
