Provides in-person and virtual tax assistance to anyone free of charge with a special focus on taxpayers who are over 50 or have low-to-moderate income for the 2026 tax season. Free, year-round tax assistance is also available on the Internet. Taxpayers can post tax questions to online tax assistors by visiting the website.

Offers the following services to sexual assault survivors (and family members), advocacy related to medical, civil, and legal needs; therapy services to help survivors and loved ones, assistance, support, information, and referrals, emergency housing, and a 24 hour hotline.

Rapid re-housing for individuals and families.

Nutrition program that includes home-delivered and congregate meals, prepared through the Meal Site located on the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska reservation.

Congregate meals are served during the lunch hour each weekday.

Home­-delivered meals are delivered to persons in poorer health. In order to receive home­-delivered meals, seniors must be present for congregate meals two times a week unless health ailments interfere.

Caregiver program provides a temporary period of relief or rest for caregiver of a frail elder in the form of in home respite care, adult day care respite, or respite for an overnight stay on an intermittent, occasional, or emergency basis.

Offers Child Care Expense Assistance through the Iowa Department of Human services is available to the children of income-eligible parents who are absent for a portion of the day due to employment or participation in academic or vocational training or PROMISE JOBS activities. Assistance may also be available for a limited period of time to the children of a parent looking for employment. APPLY TO BE A REGISTERED CHILD CARE PROVIDER. Financial assistance available (when funding is available) to income eligible applicants who have suffered a loss of income through an event that was out of their control. These funds can be used to pay one month rent (no deposits) for those in danger of being evicted from their home due to nonpayment of rent. Assistance is also available to help with water bills.

Offers to help children in grades 4-12 develop knowledge and skills. Services include learning about citizenship, leadership, cooking, arts and crafts, mechanics and technology, horticulture, agriculture, and other subjects. To teach young people about these subjects, the 4-H program uses the learn-by-doing method of instruction.

Home visitation program for pregnant parents and families with children up to age three. The program provides case management services, including individual needs assessments, the development of care plans, and the coordination of service delivery. Staff advocate for families, monitor progress, and ensure services are obtained to maximize child development and provide a foundation for school success. Services also include developmental screening to minimize potential learning barriers and interventions designed to prevent child abuse and neglect.

Develops resources for individuals who are newly diagnosed with diabetes. Offers a diabetes resource guide free of charge which can be downloaded online.
