Prevention, diversion, and intervention services targeting youth to stabilize families in crisis, prevent juvenile delinquency, and divert youth at risk of involvement in the child welfare or juvenile justice systems.

Provides assisted housing programs, including: - Housing Choice Voucher Program - Housing Choice Voucher Homeownership Program - Mixed Income Housing Program - Rental Housing Support Program - Conventional Public Housing Program

Provides syringes for safe injection practices, education, counseling, and support to overall health and reduction of the spread of disease. Needles are typically 27-29 gauge, but 18-20 gauge may be available from time to time. Trans persons are welcome to use this exchange for Hormone Replacement Therapy purposes. Also offers drug testing strips for Fentanyl and Xylazine, and sharps containers so that used needles may be safely disposed of. Narcan (Naloxone) is also available upon request and after individual completes a brief training on how to use it.

Other harm reduction services include:

-- Safer injection materials, including: syringes, cottons, cookers, alcohol pads, waters, and band-aids

-- Safer smoking materials, including: pipe covers, copper filters, and alcohol pads

-- Wound care counseling, provides education to recognize and prevent abscesses, cellulitis, and other wounds

-- Hepatitis C and HIV rapid testing (results within minutes)

-- Overdose Prevention: Narcan kits and education

-- Drug testing strips for both Fentanyl and Xylazine

If supplies are needed after hours, they can be accessed through the vending option on the south side of the building.  If supplies need to be delivered, clients must fill out the Harm Reduction Supply Delivery form (deliveries are limited to Champaign and Vermilion Counties).

New and secondhand furniture offered at discounted prices. Provides mattresses at no cost to eligible individuals. Mattresses, box springs, and bunk beds available.

Workforce development through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Provides job training and job-seeking assistance to economically disadvantaged persons, dislocated workers, and youth.

Provides diapers, pull-ups, wipes, ointments and other baby needs as well as adult protective underwear and feminine hygiene products.

Offers limited financial assistance for crisis intervention in the areas of rent, dental care service payment assistance, and help with paying for glasses.

Offers a work-based training program for eligible job seekers who are unemployed, underemployed, or laid off from work. Dedicated to fostering human dignity and advancing the economic foundation of communities by providing excellence in career development, human services, & partnering with businesses in cultivating a skilled workforce.

Helps low-income households increase the energy efficiency of their homes and save money on fuel costs. Typical energy-saving measures include sealing air leaks, installing insulation in attics, walls and crawl spaces, tuning and upgrading heating systems, and installing low-cost energy conservation measures.

Provides a mail order public library of audio books and Braille program for individuals who are unable to read standard print. 

Provides a Forensic Psychiatric Hospital (FPH). The patients (not offenders) in this unit have not been adjudicated to serve prison sentences. They are committed to this unit due to their high risk for assaultive and/or self-injurious behavior to the point that no other providers are equipped to adequately care for them, and there are additionally a few patients who reside at the FPH who have been found, “Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI).”

Tax preparation for low and moderate income taxpayers of all ages, with special attention to people 60 and older, for the 2026 tax season.

Offers community classes covering a variety of topics including Life Skills Training - Family Life Series, Stepping Up, personal development, anger management, and Positive Parenting.

Intermediate program which takes a firm, zero-tolerance stance against drugs and violence. Students receive discounts at businesses and admission into special events and retreats for making a commitment to be alcohol, tobacco, other drug, and violence free. Weekly meetings are held at numerous local junior high schools.

Offers a variety of additional substance abuse prevention services free to Scott County residents, including curriculum in the schools, drug-free workplace training, Esteem Team groups, etc.

Offers to support working aged adults with diverse abilities in identification of desired occupations, skills, resume development, and interviewing.
