Offers free legal advice to the victims of the April 26 and May 21, 2024 severe storms who are experiencing legal problems due to the storms. Legal problems may include issues such as: FEMA denials, problems with insurance, landlord/tenant issues, unemployment benefits or denials, employment issues, contractor issues and identity theft. After calling 1-866-761-4692, callers will be connected to the Hotline voicemail. Callers should leave their name, phone number, brief description of their legal problem, and whether the issue is urgent. Callers will receive a call back from an experienced Iowa Legal Aid staff member to go through a screening. Callers who meet Iowa Legal Aid’s guidelines will be connected with an Iowa Legal Aid attorney.

A free 14-module, interactive prevention curriculum that is available in English and Spanish. This evidence-based tool builds life skills; increases knowledge about available resources; educates about alternatives to running away; and empowers youth to access and seek help from trusted community members.

Participants will gain knowledge to improve food quality and learn techniques that support the protection and utilization of food products. The program includes a 6-hour course and certification exam, offering the opportunity to become a certified Food Protection Manager through the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. Open to individuals in the restaurant and food service industry, the training also serves as a resource for those involved in commercial food production activities such as farms, aquaculture facilities, and other food-related ventures.

Licenses and Permits: driver's licenses, motorcycle licenses, chauffeur's license photo identification ($5) and permits for commercial licenses are obtained at this site. The Iowa driver's license knowledge examination is printed in the following languages: Albanian, Arabic, Bosnian, Burmese, Cambodian, Chinese, English, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hmong, Italian, Korean, Laotian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Somali, Spanish, and Vietnamese. Individuals may consult with their local driver's license examiner if special translation arrangements are needed.

REAL ID can be obtained at the DOT office. Beginning October 1, 2020, TSA will require that you show a REAL ID-compliant license or ID to go through airport security. The REAL ID will also allow entrance into Federal or nuclear facilities. Documents required include proof of identification (official birth certificate with a seal, valid U.S. passport, or most recent U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services immigration or refugee document), proof of social security number (social security card or W-2/1099), proof of residency (2 items showing your name and address where you live, no PO boxes e.g. utility bill, credit card bill statement, pay stub), proof of any legal name changes (marriage certificate, divorce decree, court order under petition for name change).
