Embarras River Basin Agency (ERBA) - Crawford County
Provides energy assistance for eligible low income families in which a benefit is paid directly to the utility companies on behalf of eligible households, or directly to renters if the utility costs are included in their rent.
Some applicants may qualify for the Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP), where an eligible client pays a percentage of their income, receives a monthly benefit towards their utility bill, and receives a reduction in overdue payments for every on-time payment they make by the bill due date. Veterans Assistance Commission - Sangamon County
Provides services to the local Veterans community. Services include free VA claims assistance for all veterans and their survivors, advocacy services, rent and utility payment assistance, food expense assistance, prescription expense assistance, and transportation assistance.
Also offers service officers accredited by the VA to prepare, present, and prosecute claims for VA Disability and Pension benefits on behalf of veterans and/ or their families. The VAC is also available to assist with identifying and applying for other benefits or programs offered by the VA such as VA Healthcare.

Iowa Arts in Education
Provides a supportive arts-based community for youth (ages 12-19) who have involvement in the juvenile court system, whether they are labeled delinquent, CINA (Child In Need of Assistance) or in custody of the Iowa Department of Human Services (homeless, in shelter or foster care systems). Artist mentors help define a safe space and encourage youth artists to find their creative voice. These weekly workshops are based on young people’s individual interests.

Provides a cohesive partnership among the communities and Fire Departments to reduce the number of fire injuries and deaths, by providing evaluation, education, and redirection assistance to the children who exhibit fire setting behavior at no cost to the families affected. Trained providers will connect a child (or youth) to appropriate resources in the community, this can include fire safety education or professional counseling services when necessary.
