Provides a wide variety of independent living services for individuals with disabilities with the objective of helping them to function more independently in family and community settings and to secure and maintain appropriate employment. Services may include information and referral services, referrals for attendant care, attendant recruitment and training programs, independent living skills training, assistance in meeting housing and transportation needs, peer counseling, transition from institutions into the community, deflection from institutional placement, transition from youth to adult services, and advice and guidance regarding legal rights and benefits eligibility.

Provides services to help survivors of domestic violence, older adults, people with disabilities, and immigrant survivors of violence and trafficking. Services include Orders of Protection for people experiencing domestic violence, divorce, custody, or child support in cases involving domestic violence or child endangerment, elder abuse, including financial exploitation, other court orders to stop abuse, harassment, or stalking, immigration issues faced by survivors of domestic violence and trafficking, and guardianships of minors and adults to ensure safety and stability.

SASS provides the following services for children and youth:

• Crisis intervention
• Short-term stabilization where a child is at risk of self-harm, or harming others
• Individual and family psychotherapy/counseling
• Mental health assessment
• Case management and information on community resources
• Psychiatric services

Provides a continuing school day curriculum and teaching strategy to give the student academic assistance. Services include but not limited to tutoring, assisting with homework, and more. 

National hotline dedicated to providing year-round disaster crisis counseling. The toll-free, multilingual, crisis support service is available to all residents in the US and its territories who are experiencing emotional distress related to natural or human-caused disasters.

Provides community day services to individuals with developmental, physical, and/or intellectual disabilities. Services work to help individuals create self-sufficiency, greater choice and control of their lives, and increased participation in the community. Services include curricula that range from teaching basic skills for independent living (such as health and safety, cooking, and navigating within the community) to more advanced skills needed to find and maintain a job, manage personal finances, and achieve self-reliance.

Provides education and consumer assistance designed to facilitate enrollment of county residents in the Illinois Health Insurance Marketplace through the In-Person Counseling Program.

Access to health insurance through the Illinois Health Insurance Marketplace is one of the many changes in the health care and health insurance fields made possible by the Affordable Care Act (ACA). People in need of assistance due to language barriers, technology disadvantages, or a lack of understanding of health insurance can arrange to meet an In-Person Counselor to assist them.

Accessible transportation for medical appointments, shopping areas, congregate meals, and social activities. May include travel to other counties.

Offers a Client Choice food pantry. Pre-made boxes are available upon request. Bring container or bags to pack food into to take home.

Provides a once a year event where families can get a bag of gently used clothes and a new pair of shoes (quantity limited) for their kids. No registration required.

Offers to work with people where they are. Providing practical guidance to help families overcome obstacles and achieve their big-picture goals, one step at a time. Providing guidance through crisis and instability to a place of security in order to break the intergenerational cycle of poverty.

Offering strengths-based casework, providing services such as financial counseling and planning goal setting with manageable action steps, job training, referrals and employment assistance, assistance with securing housing and childcare, emotional and spiritual support as needed. 

Provides transportation to visit such places as the grocery store, hair salon, local medical appointments, transportation to work, and even entertainment venues.
