Enforce Human Relations Code:
Resolution of complaints of unlawful discrimination in employment, public accommodation, and financing based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, ancestry, national origin, age, disability, and matriculation. Formal conciliation is attempted to resolve complaints. Failure of conciliation may lead to a public hearing of the matter before either the Commission or a Hearing Officer appointed by the Commission.
Advise and Consult:
The Commission advises the Town Council and consults with other public officials, citizens or citizen groups on matters involving racial, religious, sexual orientation, or ethnic prejudice or discrimination and may recommend appropriate actions.
Community Outreach:

Elderwerks Educational Services
Provides older adults, seniors, caregivers, and families with finding any type of senior housing. Advisors refer to supportive businesses and organizations such as elder law attorneys, ombudsman, counselors, home care agencies, APS, Medicare experts, etc. Advisors offer referrals for independent living, assisted living, retirement living, senior living apartments, Alzheimer's care, memory care, dementia care, CCRCs, skilled nursing facilities (nursing homes), home care services, home services, rehabilitation, group homes, and emergency placement based on the needs of the client.

Neighborhood Care Center - McLean County Network
Provides a weekly warehouse grocery store pantry. Available pantry items may include, perishable food products, non-perishable food products, fruits, vegetables, breads, toiletries, cleaning products.

Provides two service days each year where staff and students volunteer to assist Decorah community residents with household and yard chores. There is one day provided each spring and one day each fall.

UnityPoint Hospice - Cedar Rapids
Provides home care services for individuals transitioning home from the hospital or rehabilitating after an injury or surgery. Services include skilled nursing care, infusion and IV therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, home medical equipment, wound management, and pediatric care.

Christmas 2025
Offering Christmas assistance through the angel tree program, for registering in person must visit main office on November 4th, 5th, and 6th. May register online on November 13th.
To register, you will need to bring: photo I.D. and social security card for head of household, and social security card for household members ages 13 and older, birth certificates for each child ages 0-12; current piece of mail from the last 30 days proving they live in Jasper County and a working phone number. Christmas food and toy distribution are for families with children from newborn to 12 years old

Crisis team (Engagement Specialist and Crisis Counselor) provide mobile crisis response and offer on-site counseling, mental health evaluation, and assess the need for psychiatric hospitalization.
Senior Services of Will County
Provides support to individuals, family members, and/or significant others in making informed care choices based on the individual's needs, preferences, values, and circumstances. Services may include offering information and guidance about Medicaid eligibility, application processes, managed care options, covered benefits (including long-term care and home and community-based services), co-payment procedures, Medicaid spend-down requirements, and the connections between Medicaid and Medicare. Assistance may also include addressing questions about Medicaid services for individuals with disabilities, enrollment support, and referrals to Medicaid-approved providers.

Provides temporary pet food assistance, to help a family keep their pet when they are struggling to make ends meet and are at risk of needing to give up the pet.
