Hope Ministries Center for Women and Children
Offers the following services to women and women with children (these are not emergency shelter programs):
SHELTER offers short term shelter to meet the basic needs such as shelter, meals, and daily essentials, including clothing, hygiene items and laundry. Case management and referral services are provided with no fees. Please call ahead Monday- Friday between 8am-4:30pm to check on availability.
LONG-TERM LIFE RECOVERY for women (with or without children) is available to clients who are open and teachable with a willingness to change to do the hard work of life recovery. Women are offered an opportunity to work on their recovery and life skills for up to 24 months. Focus in on preparation to live independently while continuing to work on spiritual growth, recovery, basic life and work skills. Life recovery clients are required to save 75% of any income toward their transition fund.

Lutheran Child and Family Services of Illinois - Springfield
Assists adoptive families with the process of adoption. Adoption specialists available to provide support and guidance before, during, and after adoptions.
Adoption programs:
-- Domestic Identified Adoption: Prospective adoptive families and birth parents connect with each other directly or through an intermediary. LCFS can provide guidance to the prospective adoptive families.
-- Interstate Adoption: LCFS can assist prospective adoptive families in Illinois who identify prospective birth parents in another state. LCFS can also assist prospective adoptive families living outside of Illinois who have located expectant parents living in Illinois who are considering an adoption plan.
-- Adopting Children in Care: LCFS can assist prospective adoptive parents who are interested in adopting youth in care who are waiting for adoptive families.
-- International (Home Study Only) Adoption: LCFS can complete a home study for Illinois prospective adoptive parents who are working with a Hague-accredited placing agency.

Cross Outreach is a homelessness prevention program offering limited assistance with basic needs for households in transition, subject to available funding. Services include help with rent, security deposits, electric or water bills, laundry vouchers, storage costs, and support for moving-related needs. While assistance with car gas is not provided, the program also offers resources to help individuals maintain clean and sanitary living environments. ***Rent, security deposits, electric, water and laundry voucher assistance requires clients to email a help request on the 3rd Monday of every month between 8 am-8 pm.
2026 Intake Dates are always on the 3rd Monday of each month, 8 am-8 pm.
