For 2026, Shelter is open starting January 4th from 6 pm-7 am.
Clean and warm clothing are available to those in need, and guests may also use the laundry facilities. Dinner and breakfast are available for guests. Guests are also invited to play cards and watch movies during their stay.

Family Resources, Inc. - Moline
Offers a crisis line for families and survivors of sexual abuse, domestic abuse or any other violent crime. A specially trained advocate will answer the crisis line and assist in any matter pertaining to sexual abuse, domestic abuse, or any other violent crime by listening and providing information, support and referrals. The crisis line is staffed 24 hours a day year-round.
Provides emotional support, individual counseling, support groups and therapy. Offers support and information for significant others, legal advocacy, medical advocacy, children’s individual and group counseling, sheltering and housing services, along with general advocacy to help all community systems enhance their response to domestic abuse, sexual abuse or any other violent crime victims.

For Thanksgiving 2026:
A free Thanksgiving meal from the MLK Center is offered to the entire Quad Cities community over 3 days the weekend before Thanksgiving.
Fri, Nov 20th, 12 pm-5 pm (drive-through only).
Sat, Nov 21st, 11 am-5 pm (drive-through and 25 meal minimum delivery).
Sun, Nov 22nd, 12 pm-4 pm (dine-in only).
For meals, arrive in the parking lot and tell staff how many meals are needed. Meals include turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing, green beans, corn, cranberry sauce and dessert.
Curbside service is available at the MLK Center while supplies last.

Offers a wide variety of activities and classes. Services include athletics, arts and crafts, dance classes, cultural activities, fitness, and seasonal special events.
Monmouth Resource Center
Provides tutoring to students in reading, writing, and math who are between 6 months and 2 years behind grade level in math or reading will qualify for the program. The focus is to work on fundamentals, providing opportunity for academic success, while growing self-esteem. Consistent attendance is mandatory. Students and parents are both required to sign a contract, ensuring that all individuals involved understand their responsibilities and expectations.

Recovery International - Central Iowa
Offers help and hope to people struggling with depression, anxiety, anger, panic, compulsions and other nervous symptoms and emotional problems. At weekly meetings, people learn practical coping techniques to manage negative thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors and replace them with healthy thinking and constructive activity. Meetings last two hours.

Trauma Informed Care model is used to provide for the immediate needs of those in crisis. The center follows a multi-occurring treatment model, meaning that patients with a mental illness and a substance abuse diagnosis will have both addressed within their treatment plan.
