Provides the opportunity for the mentor (Big) to visit their Little in the child's school, after school program, or at another youth-serving agency. This allows for the mentor to meet in a more structured environment than out in the community, usually for about an hour per week.

Assists individuals with mental illness, intellectual disabilities, and developmental disabilities in accessing needed services and supports. Coordinators provide information, referral, assess individuals for needs, develop a treatment plan, and coordinate funding as needed.

The program helps participants deal in a very focused way with a wide variety of issues that have an impact on their commitment to sobriety and may include topics like exercise, nutrition, boredom, addictive behavior, looking forward, work and recovery, guilt and shame, the role of 12-step programs, staying busy, truthfulness, trust, repairing relationships, anger management, money management and dealing with feelings.

Offers to help children in grades 4-12 develop knowledge and skills. Services include learning about citizenship, leadership, cooking, arts and crafts, mechanics and technology, horticulture, agriculture, and other subjects. To teach young people about these subjects, the 4-H program uses the learn-by-doing method of instruction. 

Caregiver services are available to informal or family caregivers of persons over the age of 60 or to grandparents raising grandchildren.

Services can include respite care (services that give caregivers a rest), home modification, assistive devices, transportation, and financial assistance.

Provides rehabilitation services to help individuals recover, maintain, or improve abilities that have been lost due to illness, injury, surgery, or chronic health conditions. Services include athletic training, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy. 

Provides a food pantry to anyone in the community who is in need of food assistance.

Free community meal served once a month. Diapers also available once a month.

Offers a  partnership with families who receive FIP to provide them with the support they need to gain independence from public assistance. The program is voluntary and does not affect FIP benefits. Maintains and provides access to official real estate documents, contracts, articles of incorporation, partnerships, state and federal tax liens, military records, birth, divorce, death, and marriage records. Offers services for issuing and renewing licenses for ATVs, boats, snowmobiles, and fishing, as well as marriage licenses and certificates. Operates as a Passport acceptance facility with photo services and processes military records for tax exemptions and benefits.

Additionally, issues public health permits to certify compliance with health laws for various facilities and institutions. Services include the establishment of standards, review of applications, issuance of permits, and enforcement of compliance through inspections and monitoring.

Career development, job development/planning, placement and on-going supports for persons with developmental or other disabilities.

Supported employment offers community-based work options for adults with developmental disabilities.

Job Club 8-week intensive job search program for individuals with disabilities. Participants focus on increasing employability skills, practicing interview skills, obtaining job leads, and helping one another.

Job Development assists adults with disabilities in determining the type of employment setting that best meets their needs, interests, and abilities. Staff assist with creating a resume and interviewing for jobs.

Job Coaching provides supplemental on the job training for adults with disabilities.

Continuing education classes are offered beyond high school in a variety of formats and settings and focus on independent living, money management, social, and employment-related skills.

Independent living services provide instruction for individuals who live in their own home (apartment or house) or in their family’s home. Education, training and support is provided to maintain or increase independent living skills, such as money management, health and safety, interpersonal relations, community awareness, recreational skills, nutrition, hygiene and leisure.

The Art of Imagination classes offer artistic opportunities in traditional art forms such as painting, writing, drawing and photography and more alternative art forms such as papercraft, mail art, cartooning, post card and greeting card creation.

Provides in-home delivery of hot meals 5 days a week. Must be at home to receive delivery.

Counseling support for families whose child has died of SIDS.

Peer support is offered; families can be put in touch with other families whose child has died of SIDS for support and information for grieving individuals and families.

Materials such as pamphlets, brochures, and other resources about SIDS and grief are available to anyone who has experienced a SIDS death.

Holiday program offering shoes, mittens, hats and socks for children.

Registration starts in early October and end November 15th, 2025. The event is held Saturday, December 6th, from 9 am-1 pm. Location is 3100 West 4th Street, Sioux City, IA. 

There will be no pre-registration, and the event will take walk-ins only. This will be on a first-come, first-served basis and only while supplies last. Shoes will not be given out before or after this event. Child must be present at the event to be fitted with shoes and in kindergarten - 8th grade. 

State Supplement adds to the benefits of the federal Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Program to bring the income of aged and disabled individuals up to the need of standards of Nebraska. Additionally, some persons are not eligible for SSI payments, but qualify for a State Supplement payment because of different standards and regulations.

State Disability provides aid to needy persons who have a disability expected to last for at least six months, but less than the 12 months required to be eligible for the federal Supplemental Security Income Program.
