Self-help, 12-step support group meetings throughout Omaha for anyone trying to build better relationships. The person attending does not need to be co-dependent.

Individuals who are court ordered to attend a 12-step group are welcomed.

Offers a food pantry delivery service to the greater Polk County area in the Des Moines, IA metropolitan area. For delivery services individuals must call and provide basic information about their household to receive food.  Requests for delivery are taken on a first-come first-serve basis. Individuals requesting a delivery must call from Mon-Wed 9 am-12 pm, and all orders are delivered on Thursdays. 

Offers an outpatient substance abuse therapy-based class. 

Provides engineering and design of County roadway projects, including local resurfacing and bridge replacement. The division is responsible for the construction and maintenance of the County Secondary Road System, including ditch cleaning, roadway surface repairs, bridge and culvert repairs, and snow removal.

For Thanksgiving 2026:

Thanksgiving food count as the monthly pantry for November. One pantry distribution per address. IDs are required for each household member. Forms of ID accepted:

- Driver’s license,

- Passport,

- School/Work ID,

- Housing Authority ID,

- Tribal ID,

- Mug shot,

- Social Security Card,

- Birth certificate,

- Medicaid/Medicare card.

Clients may not receive food at one pantry and receive food at the other. Clients attempting to receive food at more than one Heartland Hope pantry per address will be denied.

South Omaha hours (2021 U Street):

West Omaha hours (15555 Industrial Road):

Provides substance use treatment services to those working through an addiction. Services include an Intensive Outpatient Program which consists of group counseling for individuals who abuse or are dependent on alcohol or drugs, as well as individuals who have both substance abuse and mental health issues. These groups are segregated by age.

Also provides Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) which is an evidence-based treatment method using FDA-approved medications alongside behavioral therapies for clients struggling with addiction.

Provides dental care services to children in need. Dental health exams, treatment, and digital dental x-rays are available. Dental health services are available for adults who are established medical patients at Crusader.

Provides a response team to help those who have been sexually assaulted. JCSART’s goal is to meet the needs of sexual assault victims as they progress through the health care and criminal justice systems. The Johnson County Sexual Assault Response Team (JCSART) is a coalition of sexual assault nurse examiners (SANEs), emergency room staff, rape victim advocates, law enforcement officers and prosecuting attorneys.

Provides in home services to assist individuals with living successfully with mental illness and developing the skills necessary to advance to a less restrictive, community-based setting.

Offers congregate meals, home delivered meals to non elderly waiver holders in Knoxville only, and other nutritional programing to seniors such as shelf stable. Call 48 hours in advance for reservations for both congregate meals and delivery.  

Meets with patients and the general public to discuss enrollment eligibility and find the best healthcare coverage for them. Options may include Iowa Medicaid and the Health Insurance Marketplace.

Offers social work case managers to help with basic needs, including referrals to housing, food, transportation and other emergency assistance programs.

Provides referral services for housing, domestic violence and sexual assault services, and abuse cases. Immigration stress, isolation, language barriers, lack of awareness of the system or what to do and lack of extended family support significantly predispose and heighten crisis and mental health risks for foreign-born spouses. Many do not seek help because of stigma or cultural barriers and lack of support systems. The program provides empathy-first, culturally and trauma- informed, emotional support through trained volunteers and a warm line of first responders.

Helps identify emotional, behavioral, cognitive, and developmental concerns in children, adolescents, and adults.

Assessments may address concerns such as ADHD, learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, or developmental delays.

Results include a comprehensive report with diagnostic impressions and individualized recommendations for treatment, school supports, therapy, or other services. Psychological Assessments are designed to guide effective care planning, support accurate diagnosis, and help families and providers understand the best path forward.

Offers dental services through Logan County Department of Public Health. Services include, exams, x-rays, cleanings, fillings, extractions, dentures, crowns (for children only).

Provides oversight and maintenance for the parks, trail systems and recreational facilities.

Helps low-income households increase the energy efficiency of their homes and save money on fuel costs. Typical energy-saving measures include sealing air leaks, installing insulation in attics, walls and crawl spaces, tuning and upgrading heating systems, and installing low-cost energy conservation measures.
