Individuals released from jail or prison often return to their communities with no employment, home, or support system and need to overcome the social and psychological challenges of incarceration. These individuals can be some of the most vulnerable members of our society.
Through a vast network of volunteer mentors and support groups, Catholic Charities' Jail & Prison Ministry program supports formerly incarcerated individuals as they work toward positive re-entry into family and community life. Program Coordinators and volunteer mentors meet with participants to provide the needed support to resist relapse into old habits and lifestyles.
The program helps participants establish positive relationships, experience healthy social activities, and connect with community resources that can aid in finding work, affordable housing, and meeting basic needs.
A residential and rehabilitation center for men. Most of the men come directly from jail or treatment. Their problems include addiction, divorce, loss of home and family and job termination. The goal is for residents to achieve self-sufficient independence.

Services provided include intensive case management, cognitive behavioral interventions, anger management, financial empowerment, referrals to supportive services, mentoring program and follow-up.

Transitional housing for men and women who want to start their lives over as a result of addictions, mental health problems, incarceration, etc. Offers an 18-month, Christian-based program focusing on sobriety and independent productive living.
Additional programs include housing for homeless and single parents.
Assists justice-involved individuals in finding a career in skilled labor and trades.
The process starts with establishing a participant's core foundations to include obtaining personal documents, creating a viable transportation plan, employment plan matching their career objectives, and a professional resume. Mentors provide one-on-one job coaching, self and skill development and employment retention services. Assist with transportation, work supplies, hygiene needs, tutors, financial literacy, bank accounts, and in obtaining industry recognized certificates. Will have opportunity to attend job site tours, Union Hall tours, trade seminars, trade workshops and apprenticeship prep classes.

Re-entry assistance at Nebraska state correctional facilities and in communities throughout the state. Assistance includes but is not limited to re-entry planning, employment preparation and assistance, transportation assistance, housing assistance, case management, and family support services.
Family programmingand case management is available to any system-impacted Nebraskan. Completionof the RISE in-prison program is not required.
Offers a 12 week in-person and/or virtual Business Academy for formerly incarcerated individuals seeking to start their own business.
8 week in-person sessions for system impacted Nebraskans seeking to rebuild and strengthen their family relationships and bonds. Session space is limited; dinner and childcare are provided.
