Pre-Release education / re-entry preparation for men, women, and youth incarcerated and provides services for reentry and community re-establishment. Community support for families affected by incarceration through prevention and intervention program initiatives.

Volunteers are recruited and trained initially as pen pals, then developed into mentors upon the participant's release from prison. Volunteers are also trained to be mentors for at risk youth in the Juvenile Justice system, public schools, residential treatment centers, and aging out of foster care.

R.A.W. D.A.W.G.S. youth corps gang prevention program provides a positive alternative to gang membership for boys ages 5-13 through military type drills, developing positive social and academic skills and personal validation and self development. These positive personal attributes are demonstrated by positive male role models who lead the program. Call for information.

YWCA Labyrinth House

Reintegration services for formerly incarcerated women. Programs include:

- Mentoring: Eligible clients are based with trained community members as additional support to work on personal/career goals, coaching, and personal empowerment.

- Economic/Employment Services: Classes explore resume development, interviewing, financial literacy, explaining a criminal record, and uncovering careers that can lead to economic stability and success.

- Labyrinth House: A transitional living program for formerly incarcerated women. Residents live in a shared two bedroom furnished apartment and receive on-site support from residential counselors each evening.

- Outreach Case Management/Counseling: All eligible clients meet with a case manager/counselor to complete an intake and determine their personal goals. Services are provided, based on an individual level, for as long as they are needed. Outreach services include on-site support groups and skill-building workshops.

Participants being released will come from Woodbury County Jail, Woodbury County Electronic Monitoring, and Iowa Department of Corrections 3rd Judicial (RTF). The goal of this program is to help these participants gain employability and reduce recidivism.

Sioux City BOOST Re-entry is an Official Grant of the U.S. Department of Justice Bureau of Justice Assistance.

Assists justice-involved individuals in finding a career in skilled labor and trades. The process starts with establishing a participant's core foundations to include obtaining personal documents, creating a viable transportation plan, employment plan matching their career objectives, and a professional resume.  Mentors provide one-on-one job coaching, self and skill development and employment retention services.  Assist with transportation, work supplies, hygiene needs, tutors, financial literacy, bank accounts, and in obtaining industry recognized certificates.  Will have opportunity to attend job site tours, Union Hall tours, trade seminars, trade workshops and apprenticeship prep classes.

Provides supervision, housing, programming, and emotional support for adults ordered to reside in the facility as a condition of their probation, parole, early release from prison, or who are ordered to serve a prison sentence for drunk driving. The facility also offers guidance and information to assist residents in coping with their adjustment to life in the community following release from a correctional facility. The facility is operated by the Sixth Judicial District Department of Correctional Services.
