Education Services - Educational Talent Search | University of Nebraska - Lincoln
Identifies disadvantaged youth in grades 6-12 who have potential for post-secondary education, and encourages them to graduate from secondary schools and enroll in post-secondary education.
Services may include after school and tutorial homework assistance, career exploration activities, providing and assisting in completion of the ACT, college campus tours, and academic advising.
Staff encourages high school dropouts to return to school.
Participating schools:
- Middle Schools: Culler, Dawes, Lefler, Mickle, Park.
- High Schools: Northeast, Northstar, Lincoln High.

Supports all military-connected children by educating, advocating, and collaborating to resolve education challenges associated with the military lifestyle. Truants' Alternative Program (TAP) | Regional Office of Education #8 (Carroll, Jo Daviess, Stephenson)
Offers attendance and truancy prevention and intervention services. Truancy Specialists make contact via letter or phone call to discuss attendance concerns with parent(s)/guardian(s), conducts home visits, provides one-on-one informal attendance counseling between Truancy Specialist and student, works as a liaison between student, family, and school district, and links students and families to local area social service as needed.
Offers Credit Recovery to all districts in the coverage area and it is provided via on-line instruction. Students who have failed courses required for graduation, can be referred to TAP for Credit Recovery, contact school's guidance counselor.
