State Supplement adds to the benefits of the federal Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Program to bring the income of aged and disabled individuals up to the need of standards of Nebraska. Additionally, some persons are not eligible for SSI payments, but qualify for a State Supplement payment because of different standards and regulations.
State Disability provides aid to needy persons who have a disability expected to last for at least six months, but less than the 12 months required to be eligible for the federal Supplemental Security Income Program.

Short Years Partnership
The Short Years Diaper Bank is available to any Madison, Warren, or Marion County family whose income is at or below 200% of the federal poverty level,. Proof of residency is required. Diaper pick up is once a month. Registration is required each month. 50 diapers per child will be given. Only the parent or legal guardian may request diapers. We cannot accommodate requests for specific brands of diapers. Diapers are available for children ages birth through three. Children age four and older are generally not eligible.

Each meeting provides a meal, parent/child activities, childcare and parenting discussion groups. Home-Based Habilitation Services (HBHS) designed to assist individuals with serious and persistent mental illness with the acquisition, retention or improvement in skills related to living in the community. Services assist in the daily living needs of the client and can be provided 24 hours a day.
Community Support Services (CSS) provide integrated services and supports to individuals with a serious mental illness. Interdisciplinary teams provide assessments and service planning, monitoring of mental health symptoms, medication management, problem-solving assistance, coordination of appointments and transportation and support.

Course content covers structure, pronunciation, vocabulary development, reading, and writing skills. An oral assessment and/or standardized placement test will determine placement. Books are provided to students at no cost.

If St. Vincent de Paul may be able to assist, a home visit will need to be scheduled. If St. Vincent de Paul cannot help, the person will receive information regarding other organizations that may be able to assist. Home visits are completed in person and in pairs, to determine how to provide assistance appropriately related to basic needs. Does not provide assistance for rent deposit.
