Intended to help homeless or at risk for homeless veterans live as independently as possible in the community. Participants in the program live in apartments (5 beds) on The Salvation Army’s Renaissance Village campus for up to 24 months. The program provides case management three times a month to all participants. Participants pay 30% of their adjusted income for a service fee. Participants are required to do 30 hours per week in either work, educational groups at the VA, school, or volunteerism.

Case management focuses on developing a housing plan, debt repayment and obtaining housing upon exiting the program. The case manager works with the person to obtain public entitlements that they may be eligible for and obtaining community resource to help them stabilize. The program includes Hospital to Housing and Service Intensive models.

Provides dental care services to children in need. Dental health exams, treatment, and digital dental x-rays are available.

Provides emergency assistance:

-- Rent.

-- Utilities.

-- Mortgage.

-- Medicine.

-- Temporary financial assistance.

School district serving pre-K through 12th grade.

After-school care, including transportation to the facility from Quincy area schools. 

School's Out Day Camp offers care during the day for school-aged kids when school is not in session.

Provides the following services

- Free on-site pregnancy testing.

• On-site limited obstetrical ultrasound services.
• STI/ STD testing.
• Parenting education (HOPE program).
• Support to pregnant woman whose unborn baby has been diagnosed with an adverse or terminal condition and wish to carry to term (Willow Story program).

Users can search by state, zip code, or detention facility and refine their search by types and areas of legal assistance provided, populations served, languages spoken, other areas of legal assistance, and non-legal services provided.

Offers to build and rehabilitates homes with the help of homeowner/partner.

Before and after school program.

Provides law enforcement services for the rural areas and towns within Lee County. Also provides the county jail.

Provides after-school programing which includes homework tutoring, physical activities and expanded learning opportunities.

Offers to promote health and quality of life by preventing or controlling those diseases or deaths that result from interactions between people and the places they live, work and play. The programs employ several strategies to prevent health hazards including education, surveillance, routine inspections, sampling, posting, and enforcement where necessary.

Offers scholarships, amounts are dependent of funding levels, to income eligible individuals in Edwards, Gallatin, Hamilton, Saline, Wabash, Wayne or White County, who are planning to attend accredited Illinois University, community college, technical or vocational schools. Preference is given to applicants of racial or ethnic minorities.

Offers several officers who are nationally certified Child Passenger Safety Seat Technicians and are available to assist citizens in answering any questions they may have, as well as making sure:

- It has not been recalled.

- It is correct for your child.

- It meets safety standards.

- The child passenger seat is installed correctly.

Offers recreation programs and services to the residents of Des Moines. Parks, trails, and public recreation facilities are available throughout the city.

The Recreation Division provides instruction in various sports, youth sports camps, outdoor aquatic centers, spray grounds, and arts and crafts instruction for individuals interested in developing or enhancing their creative skills. Red Cross swimming instruction is also available at some facilities. The GRASP card offers discounts to low-income families (up to 50% off).

Community Centers offer a variety of activities, open recreation, meeting space, and are barrier-free to allow for participation by persons with a disability. See individual listing for Community Centers.

The Parks Division includes cemeteries, floral gardens and displays, golf courses, tennis courts, bike trails, picnic parks and shelters, swimming pools, and public boat ramps.

Monthly free diaper giveaway program, held in the HMC lobby. Limited quantities available; may not have all sizes.  Only the parent or legal guardian may pick up diapers.

Provides outpatient mental health services. Services include treatment for depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, self-harm and suicidality, family/relationship problems, OCD, and confusion/memory loss.
