Individuals and families can rent community garden plots on a sliding-scale fee basis. Community gardeners get access to land, tools, water, seeds, and other resources to help them grow their own food.

The farm program is for individuals wanting to grow food to sell as a business. The program offers land access and technical assistance to beginning farmers.

Care Partner Huddle meets every Wednesday morning on Zoom, Self-Care Huddle meets early evening on Tuesdays on Zoom.

- COMPANION COUNSELING: Companion counseling services are a combination of generous listening and compassionate presence. Schedule a telephone, Zoom or in-person conversation during the week.

- SUPPORT GROUPS: Join others on the cancer journey by connecting in a support group. Meetings are facilitated by Carolyn Ettinger and are offered in a hybrid fashion (in person and on Zoom).

- LEARNING CIRCLES: Through healing and discovery circles, Wings of Hope affirms that we all have our own healing powers. The circles provide a safe and supportive environment where anyone can explore and engage in their own healing.

- GUIDED IMAGERY: This evidence-based meditation technique promotes relaxation and healing. Streaming audios are available online.

- HEALING GARDEN PROGRAMMING: In addition to opportunities for individual healing in our indoor garden space, Wings collaborates with community experts to offer complementary medicine programs on a monthly basis.

- HOPE CHEST RENEWAL ROOM: Provides free wigs, hats and other practical care items.

- HEALING TOUCH: A certified Healing Touch Practitioner provides therapy that works with each person’s energy field to support their natural ability to heal. Gentle Touch assists in balancing the individual’s physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.

- HOPE PROGRAM: The cost of treatment can be overwhelming. Wings of Hope provides vouchers to assist qualified patients with symptom management medications, nutritional supplements, transportation assistance and home medical equipment.

Community free pantry.  A "choice" pantry where customers can shop for needed items.

Outpatient therapy for children and adults. Therapies used include Parent Child Interaction Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Lifespan Integration, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Technique, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Critical Incident Stress Management, Substance Use Disorder Psychotherapy, and Play Therapy.

Outpatient psychiatric services include evaluations and diagnosis, and medication management.

Offers to address and focus on prevention, intervention, detection and reporting elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation by presenting the senior consumer with options to enhance and protect their life and independence.

Assists property homeowners, who need a small home repair completed in their home in McHenry County. Senior Services maintains a pool of volunteers and service organizations that are able to help with small handyman tasks and yard maintenance.

Staff can also provide a list to connect seniors to preferred professional service providers and individuals for private pay who have consented to a background and reference screening process. This list is a reliable substitute to choosing an unknown service provider from the phone book. Preferred providers are available to perform general home repairs and odd jobs, plumbing, window washing, waste removal, lawn maintenance, snow removal, etc. Based on availability, financial assistance may be an option for seniors who qualify."

Food pantry. Services available once a month.

Provides tutoring to students in reading, writing, and math who are between 6 months and 2 years behind grade level in math or reading will qualify for the program. The focus is to work on fundamentals, providing opportunity for academic success, while growing self-esteem. Consistent attendance is mandatory. Students and parents are both required to sign a contract, ensuring that all individuals involved understand their responsibilities and expectations.

Diapers and wipes are available to Healthy Families program participants and community members upon request.

Hospice care.

Law enforcement agency.

Offers clothing items, cooking utensils, bedding items, toys, etc. to those in need for a minimal cost. Revenue received is used for other household crisis situations.
