Head Start and Early Head Start are comprehensive child development programs that serve children from birth to age five, pregnant women and their families. The programs are child-focused and have the overall goal of increasing the school readiness of young children in low-income families.

Both programs provide a range of individualized services in the areas of education, medical, dental and mental health, nutrition and social service to children and their families. Parent involvement is encouraged and support is offered for children with disabilities.

Omni Inventive Care

Short term, team approach providing therapeutic and skill-building interventions within the home. Families referred may have severe mental health issues, abuse and neglect issues, or youth with serious emotional and behavioral disturbances. The major goal of this program is to prevent an out-of-home placement of the youth or reunify families and stabilize placement. Treatment typically lasts 12-18 weeks and parents are asked to complete special play time assignments with their children between sessions. Coaching focuses on behavioral principles to strengthen the family relationship, supportive patterns of communication and child management skills.

Omni provides this service to preserve the family’s integrity and prevent unnecessary out-of-home placements, to put adolescents and their families in touch with community resources for long term outside support, and to strengthen the family’s coping skills and capacity to function effectively in the community after treatment is completed.

Counseling services are available to survivors and significant others of all ages and genders regardless of when the assault or abuse occurred. Counseling services are client-centered, intended to provide emotional support to help clients regain a sense of control over their lives and heal from the pain of sexual violence. Counseling services are specialized and include individual, couple, family, group, and art therapy. Play therapy is available for younger clients. Qualified counselors work with each client on an individual basis to fit specific needs. Counselors can assist clients in accessing other supportive services in order to meet additional needs.
