Pontiac Township
Provides monthly financial assistance to persons who do not have adequate income or resources to provide for their own basic needs. Funds may be disbursed for specific basic maintenance needs such as shelter (rental assistance), utilities, and food.
General Assistance eligibility is re-determined monthly, by appointment, and as long as the recipient maintains his/her eligibility, they may continue to receive a monthly General Assistance grant.

Home visits occur weekly to work with parents on child development, behavior management, safety, and creating a learning environment.
