Provides a cohesive partnership among the communities and Fire Departments to reduce the number of fire injuries and deaths, by providing evaluation, education, and redirection assistance to the children who exhibit fire setting behavior at no cost to the families affected. Provides supports and services for families to help their children meet developmental milestones.

Provides fresh, home-cooked meals to anyone who struggles with food insecurity. Usually a hot entree, beverage, and baked dessert.

Offers library services. Items that may be borrowed from or used in the library include books, music recordings, videos and DVDs, audiobooks, computer software, magazines, and newspapers. The library also has computers and Wi-Fi for public access. There are also library sponsored programs for all ages offered.

Monthly Men’s and Women’s Wellness Coffee Hours are held in both Lincoln and Omaha, intended to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for individuals who have been incarcerated and their family members. These gatherings serve as a space for healing, empowerment, and meaningful community connection, helping participants navigate the challenges of reentry and personal growth. Through open discussions and shared experiences, attendees find encouragement and solidarity. Guest speakers are invited to present valuable community resources to promote overall well-being and successful reintegration.

Administers Head Start, a comprehensive developmental preschool program for children. At the three center locations throughout McHenry County, open enrollment is available at any time and emphasis is on school readiness.

Provides limited funding for necessities such as rent, food, clothing, utilities, medical care, and burial costs. Funds must be repaid.

Independent organization within the IRS.  Helps taxpayers whose problems with the IRS are causing financial difficulties, such as not being able to provide necessities like housing, transportation, or food; taxpayers who are seeking help in resolving problems with the IRS; and those who believe an IRS system or procedure is not working as it should.

If a client qualifies for help, advocates work with the IRS to resolve issues.

Tax toolkit on the website can help clients understand their rights as taxpayers.

Offers a senior center. Services are open five days a week for recreational opportunities, including games, newspapers, socialization, and speakers.

Early Access is a partnership between families with young children, birth to age three, and providers from the Departments of Education, Public Health, Human Services, the Child Health Specialty Clinics. Families and staff work together in identifying, coordinating and providing needed services and resources that will help the family assist their infant or toddler to grow and develop.

Early Childhood Education Services offer instructional and supportive services for special needs children and their families, in cooperation with local school districts. Offers developmental and hearing screenings as well as educational evaluations. Instructional and supportive services include home intervention, speech and language therapy, physical and occupational therapy, toddler groups, and parent education and consultation to preschools and daycare centers.

Offers day habilitation, community employment and other support services. Offers a 9-month program designed for individuals affected by the Nebraska prison system who wish to rebuild and strengthen their family connections. Each unit lasts 5-6 weeks, and participants can enroll at any time during the year.

In-person classes occur weekly in Lincoln and Omaha. Space is limited. A meal and child-friendly activities are provided.

Offers clothing vouchers to those in need.

Provides vocational assessments, job coaching and supported employment services. In addition, support for students with disabilities pursuing post-secondary education is available.
