Early Head Start is an education-based program that supports families through child development, parenting education, nutrition, social services, parent involvement, family literacy, and health and disability services. The home visiting program consists of a home visitor making a weekly visit and providing two group socialization opportunities a month. The center-based program for parents working or going to school full time, provides free childcare for eligible infants and toddlers, which also promotes parental input through volunteer opportunities and parent interactions.

Provides quality end-of-life services for the increasing number of terminally ill offenders in the Iowa Department of Corrections. The program provides comfort oriented care and spiritual, emotional, physical and psychological support to terminally offenders and allows them to die with dignity and humanity, in as little pain as possible, and in a hospice setting rather than alone in a cell, infirmary bed, or hospital room.

Provides disability I.D. hanging devices through the Iowa Department of Transportation. Applications may also be available at county treasurer offices, driver license exam stations, Department of Human Rights, or Persons with Disabilities Division. Individuals must have a signed physician's or chiropractor's statement on the physician's or chiropractor's letterhead stationery verifying the person's disability and whether the disability is temporary or permanent.

Offers hands-on training sessions that provides information about opioid overdose and administer NARCAN to reverse its effects. Training can be done as an individual or in a group setting. Sessions are available for employers, families, community groups, and faith-based organizations throughout the Sauk Valley area. 

Provides permanent supportive housing for individuals and families experiencing chronic homelessness or fleeing domestic violence. Our program combines stable, affordable housing with ongoing case management and supportive services to help participants maintain housing, increase self-sufficiency and improve overall well-being.

Oversees the election process, voter registration (can be done through the state or in person at a polling location before an election), maintains current real estate and property tax information, assessment maps, state tax liens, military records, birth, marriage, divorce and death records.
