Builds safe, affordable houses for qualified homebuyers. Each Habitat home is built in partnership with homeowner families, sponsors, and volunteers. These are sold to the partner family whom repays an affordable mortgage over 20 years. Homeowners attend a series of workshops on financial literacy and home maintenance so they are well-prepared to be homeowners.

In-home residential services designed to develop and maintain skills ranging from personal care to protective oversight. Residential habilitation is an around-the-clock service in a group home setting or Extended Family Home/Shared Living. Risk services provides extra training and clinical staff involvement.

Provides houses built or renovated using as much volunteer labor and donated materials as possible. Recipients must be involved in the construction of the homes (sweat equity). Small monthly mortgage payments including taxes and insurance are repaid over a maximum of 25 years and deposited into a revolving "Fund For Humanity" which supports the construction of more houses.

Provides support to individuals, family members, and/or significant others in making informed care choices based on the individual's needs, preferences, values, and circumstances. Services may include offering information and guidance about Medicaid eligibility, application processes, managed care options, covered benefits (including long-term care and home and community-based services), co-payment procedures, Medicaid spend-down requirements, and the connections between Medicaid and Medicare. Assistance may also include addressing questions about Medicaid services for individuals with disabilities, enrollment support, and referrals to Medicaid-approved providers.

Supports children and caregivers through early development of social and emotional skills. Program leaders collaborate with teachers, care providers, and families to support children in becoming successful in their early care environments and classrooms, reducing the risk of expulsion.

Provides support in both the classroom and within the home to ensure all children have the opportunity to learn within a traditional childcare setting.

Advises and aids veterans and their dependents in applying for federal benefits through compensation or pension claims. Emergency financial assistance for basic necessities such as rent and utility payments, medical/dental assistance, prescription medications, burial assistance, and food may be available. Can also assists with applications for benefits made available by federal, state or local laws.

Communicable disease surveillance, investigation and containment of contagious illnesses.

Emergency preparedness, disaster relief and emergency planning.

Wellness services assists area businesses and/or individuals to adopt healthy lifestyles through education and/or wellness activities.

Weight loss programs and health coaching services to improve healthy lifestyles.

Education on the dangers of radon gas and radon testing kits.

Educates public about dangers of West Nile virus.

Minority health offers education and activities to reach minority individuals in the service area on various health-related topics.

CPR and first aid training throughout service area.

Education and colon cancer screening kits to the community to encourage prevention and early detection of colon cancer.

Tai Chi and Bingo-cize fall prevention classes held in communities to help decrease falls in the community.

School nursing.

Substance abuse prevention through the Healthy Communities Initiative. Coalition works together to provide education and activities to reduce drug and alcohol use among youth.

Dental screenings and education offered to preschool and grade school children. Sealants and fluoride treatments also available.

Childhood and adult vaccines for all people are provided at each of Elkhorn Logan Valley Public Health Department's three locations in Norfolk, Tekamah and Wisner. Includes vaccines for those who are privately insured, Medicare, Medicaid and those who are uninsured.

Provides mental health services for patients with mental illness and significant emotional disorders. Services include addiction medical management, diagnoses of mental health conditions, diagnostic evaluations, medication management, psychotherapy, and support for relationships and families. 

Specializes in providing assistance to individuals, couples, children, adolescents, and families for a full range of life and family issues, including couples problems, depression, anxiety, childhood and adolescent behavioral issues, trauma, and grief.

Staff are also available to provide education seminars or specialized group counseling programs on site to any local organization, school, church, or business; topics include communication, conflict resolution, parent training and education, child and adolescent groups, marital enrichment, and anger management.

Services may be available outside of normal business hours.

Offers library services and programs for everyone including story times for youth. Items that may be borrowed from or used in the library include DVDs, large print materials, audio books, magazines, and newspapers. The library also provides access to computers, WIFI access available, reference, and information services.

Provides a recreation pass that provides a discount to families for activities at the Knoxville Recreation Center. Families who qualify receive 50% off of monthly passes to use the fitness rooms, pool and much more.

- For residents of Wymore, calls for home delivered meals must be made to the Beatrice Senior Center, at (402) 223-3055 or the main office at (402) 223-1376.

- For residents of Palmyra, calls for home delivered meals must be made to the Syracuse Senior Center, at (402) 269-2957.

- For residents of Nebraska City, home delivered meals must be arranged through the city's Meals on Wheels program.

Circuit Court handles district court records such ass traffic violations, probate, juvenile and small claims. Juvenile Court service handles intake/probation/supervision. Also handles Child support assistance, protective orders.

Provides emergency financial assistance for low-income individuals and families in Macon County. Assistance covers basic needs such as water bill and prescription payment costs.

Also offers financial support for the following on a case-by-case basis water bills, state issued IDs and birth certificates, GED testing fees, gas for out-of-town doctor appointments, bus cards and tokens, diapers and baby formula, and assistance with work-related items.

Provides home health care services to those in need who are under orders from a physician. Services are administered by a registered nurse and include medication management, IV therapy, catheter care, dressing changes, injections, and physical assessments.

Determines client eligibility for the City of Lincoln's special transportation services including Senior Saver, a discount for persons, 62 years or older, on regular bus routes; Go For Less, a discount for persons with disabilities on regular bus routes; the Handi-Van, which offers door-to-door transportation for persons unable to handle a fixed-route bus due to their disability; and the Taxi Coupon Program, which offers a reduced taxi fare for persons eligible for use of the Handi-Van. In addition, mediation is provided for StarTran and their customers regarding services.

Offers financial management course developed for families in low-income situations. Clients receive support with basic, technical financial management skills, financial practices and systems.
