The Workforce Connection

Provides assistance to out-of-school youth ages 17-24 who are overcoming barriers to employment. Participants engage in academic programming to obtain a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and skill-building activities in construction or urban agriculture, such as building or rehabilitating housing for low-income families. Leadership development includes classes, activities, and organizational leadership roles.

Assistance is available for individuals who have experienced discrimination or unfair treatment based on age, gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or marital status. Services target youth facing low income, homelessness, or involvement with the judicial system.

YMCA Supportive Housing Campus

Offers permanent supportive housing (this is not an emergency housing program). Furnished units and supportive services are available to all residents. This can include case management, access to internet, free local phone calls, a mailbox, fitness room, laundry, and more. Each unit has a bed, dresser, closet, private restroom and kitchenette. This is a permanent supportive housing complex with 140 furnished single occupancy efficiency apartments. Rent is $540 per month and includes basic utilities (water, electricity, gas, trash removal). Rental assistance is available for those that income qualify. The YMCA Supportive Housing Campus is based on the Housing First Model. Housing First helps people who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness, move into stable and secure permanent housing supplemented by supportive services. The first step is to complete an application and return with a $15.00 non-refundable check or money order for the background check fee. There is a waiting list, so we are not an option for emergency housing assistance.
