Embarras River Basin Agency (ERBA)
Provides a senior center where seniors can come to share companionship, meals, and recreational activities. Services include congregate and home delivered meals, recreational activities that include a pool and exercise equipment, quilting, painting, bingo, exercise classes, and bowling.
Lazarus House
Provides assistance with permanent supportive housing for the chronically homeless with a disabling condition. To receive help, funds must be available, and individuals must qualify according to grant requirements. Within certain programs, case management services and life skill classes are offered.

Senior centers provide a place for congregate meals, as well as social activities, games, educational programs, etc.

Department of Human Services (DHS) - McHenry County
Helps low-income people and families buy food.
Offers the Restaurant Meals Program, which allows eligible SNAP customers to buy meals at authorized restaurants. (Available to SNAP customers who are homeless, elderly, and/or disabled.)
The LINK card is accepted at many farmers' markets.
Expedited/Emergency SNAP Benefits may be available (in 5 days or less from the date of application) to eligible clients if:
- Monthly income, cash, and bank accounts are less than client's rent or mortgage plus utility costs, OR
- Monthly income is less than $150 and client's cash and bank accounts are not more than $100, OR
- At least one person in the household is a migrant farm worker and client's cash and bank accounts are not more than $100.
Child Network - Watseka
Serves children who have experienced abuse through a comprehensive approach of providing services to the child and their non-offending family members. Staff provides advocacy services to help bridge the gap between law enforcement and the court system.
Services include:
- Forensic interviews
- Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy
- Resource referrals
- Medical forensic exam
Veterans Business Outreach Center - Nebraska and Iowa
Provides entrepreneurial development services such as business training, counseling, and resource partner referrals to service members, veterans, National Guard and Reserve members, military spouses, and family members interested in starting or growing a small business. The program is funded by Small Business Administration.
Greene County Public Health
Provides immunizations, dental screenings, first five care coordination services for children from birth to age 18 who meet low-income guidelines.
Additionally, early intervention services are provided to identify and address developmental delays or disabilities in infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, offering coordinated support such as developmental evaluations, individualized family service plans, and therapies including physical, occupational, speech, and psychological services. Programs also focus on early identification and treatment of emerging mental, emotional, or social challenges in children to prevent further dysfunction and promote optimal development.

Access point for the community's homeless response system. Individuals and families who are at imminent risk of homelessness (with no house, apartment, etc. to stay tonight) will complete an assessment and receive help to find housing options.
Also accepts applications for The Cottages, a neighborhood development with 50 houses created by the Siena Francis House. The homes are available to those who have experienced chronic homelessness and have a disability.

Embarras River Basin Agency (ERBA) - Coles County East
Financial assistance available (when funding is available) to income eligible applicants who have suffered a loss of income through an event that was out of their control. These funds can be used to pay one month rent (no deposits) for those in danger of being evicted from their home due to nonpayment of rent. Assistance is also available to help with water bills.
