Offers a trauma informed environment for young adult men ages 10-18, must be referred by DCFS and DJJ heal from past trauma and develop life skills. Daily activities include celebrating holidays and birthdays, fitness groups and sports, fishing, arts and crafts, support groups, anger management, and off campus activities.

Centralia Residential - Provides mental health treatment for young adult women ages 15.5-17.5. 

Provides community-based services to adjudicated teens. Intended to divert youth from deeper involvement in the criminal justice system through intensive case management, counseling, life skills development, education, and recreation.

Homeless shelter for men, women, and families.

New Life residential substance abuse program.

Provides skilled nursing care to assist with medication set up, wound care, and IV's. Home Health Aides to assist with bathing and specific needs. Home therapies can also be provided.

Provides free tax credit clinics and prepares free federal and state income taxes for low to moderate income households.

Starting January 15, 2026, visit https://vita.unl.edu to schedule an appointment. Tax appointments begin Feb 1 and run through Apr 10 and are available at multiple sites in Lincoln. To see the days and times for all the locations, visit the website to download the site schedule.

When scheduling an appointment, choose a site location and date. All location will be face-to-face; virtual preparation is available in addition to facilitated self-assistance (schedule an appointment under the 'Need Assistance' tab).

If Lincoln Public School and/or UNL is closed due to bad weather, all VITA sites are closed.

The scope of work that can be done within the VITA site is defined by the IRS. If a return is considered "out of scope" for the site, VITA Volunteers will not be able to prepare the return.

Offers two levels of Supported Community Living Services designed to meet the daily living needs of adults with disabilities and mental illness. These services increase a client's independence and provide a level of relief for family members and caretakers. The level of service is determined by the individual, guardians, case managers, and providers to best suit their needs.

Services may include employment assistance, day habilitation programs, and more.

Provides Medication-Assisted Treatment who struggles with an Opioid Use Disorder. Other services include primary health care, group and individual counseling, recovery support coaching, and care management.

Provides a food pantry to those in need. Must live within the Mediapolis School District to access the pantry.

Offers Child Care Expense Assistance through the Iowa Department of Human services is available to the children of income-eligible parents who are absent for a portion of the day due to employment or participation in academic or vocational training or PROMISE JOBS activities. Assistance may also be available for a limited period of time to the children of a parent looking for employment. APPLY TO BE A REGISTERED CHILD CARE PROVIDER. Provides legal services in order to help with the following:

- Elder abuse, including financial exploitation.

- Guardianship of adults to ensure health care.

- Nursing home and home care issues.

- Powers of attorney and other advance directives.

- SSI and social security denials, cessations, terminations, overpayments, and garnishments.

Diapers, wipes, baby/children's clothing, and food boxes provided to anyone in need.

Provides property assessment, property value information, Homestead, Veteran and Family Farm Credit sign up.

SNAP (food stamps) application assistance.

Due to limited application staff, clients must call for assistance.
