Must meet income guidelines for the program and have an application completed. Must have a medical need to be eligible for the program. Program runs May through September.

Provides necessary work clothing required to keep or obtain a job such as steel-toed boots, nursing scrubs, uniforms, etc. Computers are available for public use to construct resumes, do job search, fill out online job applications, etc.

43 North Iowa - Crisis Stabilization
Offers 24-hour inpatient care for people with behavioral health disorders or co-occurring disorders. Providing a very short-term residential alternative to emergency room care or inpatient hospitalization for individuals in need of urgent care related to a mental health crisis, substance use disorder, or both.
Also offers several outpatient services and mental health evaluations for inpatient placement.
Skip-a-Long Childhood Center - Milan
Intensive, research-based child development and family support services for families with children from birth to age three, with an aim of building a strong early learning foundation and preparing children for later school success.
SAL Community Services’ Prevention Initiative program offers early, continuous child development and family support services in Rock Island County.
The comprehensive year-round program is for families with children currently enrolled in SAL’s early childhood programs, including Skip-a-Long Childhood Centers and select licensed homes within our Home Child Care Network. It is also available to new families in the community who are interested in establishing a strong early learning foundation for their children.

Services ensure youth receives emergency psychiatric or substance abuse treatment if needed, follow-up care plan for youths reunited with family, and short-term or long-term placements if reunification is not immediately possible.

Administers Head Start, a comprehensive developmental preschool program for children. At the three center locations throughout McHenry County, open enrollment is available at any time and emphasis is on school readiness.
Also provided the following classes, parent training, health and dental screening, social services and a nutrition program.

Human Resources Center - Marshall Forsythe Center
Provides work training services for individuals with intellectual, developmental, learning, medical, or physical disabilities as well as substance use and mental health disorders. These work training activities are paid work and non-competitive. Participants are provided with opportunities to explore their personal vocational interests, develop skills, and receive assistance in obtaining competitive community employment.

Offers to connect youth and families to a wide range of resources and support to address immediate needs and foster long-term stability. Navigators work to bridge service gaps by facilitating partnerships among agencies and providing flexible funding for essential needs such as rent, utilities, transportation, work clothing, medical expenses, mental health care, and minor home repairs.
The initiative aims to reduce unnecessary involvement in child welfare and juvenile justice systems while enhancing informal and community supports. Participants are matched with resources to resolve urgent issues or establish ongoing coaching relationships. Services are open to anyone, with a focus on youth and families experiencing multiple needs, including housing, basic life skills, parenting, and employment readiness.
