Offers recycling services to the communities in Fayette County. The recycling center accepts plastics, cardboard, sorted office paper, newspaper, magazines, hardback books, and metal. (Full list of accepted materials and specifics information available on the website.)  Electronics are not accepted at the recycling center and must be taken to the Fayette County Landfill.

Provides free diapers, wipes and other hygiene supplies to families with children in need in Boone and Winnebago Counties. Also have donated children's clothes, toys, books etc. for families to choose from.

Provides substance abuse services to the Latino community. Services include DUI evaluations and risk education, outpatient treatment for substance abuse, treatment for family / Codependent, individual or group counseling, and adolescent treatment.

Offers after school programs at Lewis Lemon Community Center (LLCC) and Washington Park Community Center (WPCC).

- LLCC After School Program: Enrichment program offered to Lewis Lemon students. Activities include homework help, board games, arts and crafts, gaming systems, and the opportunity to participate in organized basketball and football teams. A daily snack is provided. Students also have the opportunity to participate in the 1st Century Program, which offers help in reading, math, and science. The students of this program must be teacher recommended.

- LLCC Teen Evening Program: Offers open gym, gaming systems, and more. Staff keeps teens active and safe.

- WPCC After School Program: Provides an after school program for youth. A snack and boxed dinner are provided.

Activities include:

- Homework help.

- Arts and crafts.

- Gymnasium games.

- Fitness.

- Computer lab.

- Outdoor play (weather permitting).

- Cub Scouts.

- Girl Scouts.

- Sports teams.

WPCC Teen/Tween Evening Program

Provides rent payment assistance for households with an eviction notice and utility assistance for households with a utility disconnect.

- May also help with deposit payment for new rental housing.

Offers to help people in District 5 DAP by giving information, advice on choices, short-term help and support to find long-term services.

Works to help individuals, including those facing significant employment barriers, secure and retain high-quality jobs. The program assists people in finding employment, funds training when needed to gain or retain a position, and provides assistance in obtaining work permits or official documentation required for work authorization.

The Adult Program serves people who are at least 18 years old and, if applicable, registered for Selective Service. The Dislocated Worker Program serves individuals registered for Selective Service who have lost their jobs and meet dislocated worker categories defined in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).

The Youth Program serves in-school youth (ages 14-21) and out-of-school youth (ages 16-24) who need assistance with training or education to enter the workforce successfully, with a focus on young people facing barriers to success. This includes government-subsidized summer employment programs that provide job opportunities in the public and private sectors during the summer months. Registration for these summer opportunities occurs during a spring application period.

General Assistance provides financial support to Muscatine County income eligible residents in emergency situations. Trust Services provides payee support to persons determined by the Social Security Administration to need assistance in managing their benefits.

Provides access to rental assistance apartments to those that are income eligible, including HUD housing apartments.

No vouchers are available.

Offers free Certified Nursing Assistant classes to individuals interested in employment in healthcare.

- Two-week course covers essential skills such as healthcare basics, patient assistance, vital sign monitoring, nursing procedures, medical terminology, and more.

Provides one-on-one, in-home classes for clients who came to America with refugee status. Offers acclimation education regarding cleaning (how to maintain a home) as well as fire safety.

Provides city government services to the Kankakee area. 

Social Security’s Ticket to Work program supports career development for Social Security disability beneficiaries age 18 through 64 who want to work. The Ticket program is free and voluntary. The Ticket program helps people with disabilities progress toward financial independence.
